On September 15th 2012 Sam was invited by Sir Alex Ferguson to attend the Premier League match against Wigan Athletic. His Aunty Jane had contacted the Manchester United Foundation and made all the arrangements. Kate drove us up to Manchester (not an easy drive) and we had a free parking space just across the road from the stadium. The disbaled facilities were superb and the atmosphere in the ground was warm and welcoming. Lindsay, Kate and Poppy had seats just in front of the disabled area and we settled down in the warm sunshine to enjoy the match. United played towards the Stretford End in the first half, and half time arrived without a goal. The second half, however, was dramatically different. The Reds knocked in four goals right in front of us. We waited for the stadium to empty, then strolled around the outside taking photos, before heading off to our hotel at Cheadle Royal, my old stamping ground. On Sunday morning we paid a visit to my old house before heading home. The whole weekend was a memorable experience and Sam really enjoyed his return to Old Trafford.
